End of January seen as ideal time to land Manchester United player–Contact through intermediaries

On Wednesday, Corriere dello Sport reported AS Roma are close to waving the white flag in their move for Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkee.

This was because of the Red Devils’ stance about the player. Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo will play at AFCON and Ruben Amorim’s side wouldn’t want to lose another attacker.

This does come as a blow to Roma but they still have a shred of hope.

Corriere della Sera – relayed by LaRoma24, report that the end of January is seen as a good time to sign the Manchester United player.

The newspaper believe that Roma will ‘take it easy’ in their chase for the Dutchman. In an ideal world, they would want to sign a striker by the 2nd of January. Now, they are willing to be patient.

Manchester United, through intermediaries, have expressed willingness to move on from Zirkzee. Even if they will be short in attack, they could now reverse their decision towards the end of January.

At that point, Zirkzee’s situation can change. The Red Devils are not willing to sanction a dry loan and this would still need negotiating. All hope is not lost in Rome about signing the Netherlands international, even if he has played regularly in the last two Premier League games.
