Manchester United take on West Ham United at Old Trafford tonight as they look to climb back into the top five of the Premier League.
United’s last home game was a disaster – beaten by a 10-man Everton on a night where Ruben Amorim’s side reverted back to some of their old, worrying habits.
It ended a run of five games without a defeat but they got back on track impressively away to Crystal Palace last weekend.
It’s been a busy week in the Premier League and results elsewhere mean a win for United tonight will lift them up five places, level on points with fourth place Chelsea.
West Ham start the evening in the relegation zone after Leeds United’s thrilling win over Chelsea lifted them out of the bottom three.

Rotation for Ruben?
Tony Mogan
Apart from their calamitous Carabao Cup exit, this is the first time United have had more than one game a week all season. Ruben Amorim hasn’t had much need to rotate his squad – just ask Kobbie Mainoo – but we might get some idea of how he will switch things up heading into Christmas tonight.

How Man Utd could line up tonight
Tony Mogan
With Benjamin Sesko sidelined until mid-December, Joshua Zirkzee has come into the side in his absence. After a disappointing showing against Everton, the Netherlands international was on the score sheet with a superbly taken strike at Selhurst Park to strengthen his case for another start against the Hammers.
Amorim has the option of sticking with Zirkzee ahead of Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo while Mason Mount, also on the score sheet against Palace, is also an option to come into that attacking three.
But having played the full 90 minutes for the first time since arriving at United from Chelsea, Mount could be handed a midweek rest.

Man Utd team news tonight

The big question ahead of kick off is will Matheus Cunha come back into the side tonight? The Brazilian has missed United’s last two games with a head injury but Ruben Amorim declared him fit to start earlier this week.
Harry Maguire remains out with the United boss suggesting there were two more injury doubts in the squad ahead of kick-off.
