Sheffield Wednesday boss shares what he hopes Manchester United will do with Harry Amass

Sheffield Wednesday need to add to their squad in January and one player who they can’t afford to see leave is Manchester United loanee Harry Amass.

The youngster is a mainstay in the Wednesday team of late, and his performances are growing with each passing week, despite the Owls being in turmoil during 2025/26.

Amass was one of the few players to arrive at the club in the summer, with Wednesday placed under a number of transfer embargoes and requiring special permission to add players.

With January on the horizon, there have been some question marks over the future of Amass in South Yorkshire, and now, Henrik Pedersen has some news for supporters.

What Henrik Pedersen has said about future of Harry Amass

Amass has been a credit to himself in his first steps in men’s football and given that United know he would play regularly, it makes sense for him to remain at Hillsborough.

However, Pedersen has now delivered a verdict that suggests he doesn’t really know what will happen beyond the January transfer window – even if he does want him to stay.

He told the Sheffield Star: “I think there is something between Manchester United and Harry that they have to find out before we can make the next step.

“I hope it will be found out in the short term. There could be something with the contract between Harry and Manchester United, but let’s see what happens. I think we will find a solution – I really hope.”

Amass should be pleading with United to let him remain at the Championship outfit, and it would be a further hammer blow for Pedersen if Amass were to leave.

Hopefully, something can be worked out and Amass can continue furthering his development in South Yorkshire beyond the January transfer window.
