Ahead of their match against West Ham United, hundreds of Manchester United supporters were left fuming as they faced long delays to enter Old Trafford. Questions have since been raised over the stewarding of the turnstiles, with many fans missing kick off.
Ruben Amorim's side were hoping to go fifth in the Premier League on Thursday night, with them facing a West Ham team which are still looking to steer themselves clear of the relegation zone. The Irons entered the match in 18th place, but a victory would take them above Leeds United.
However, both teams were involved in an incredibly tepid first half, with chances at a premium for each side. United arguably had the best opportunities during a 20-second period, as Joshua Zirkzee saw an effort off his thigh cleared off the line by Aaron Wan-Bissaka, before Bruno Fernandes' subsequent scissor kick hit the outside of the post.

Had the game started better, then several fans would have been left even more frustrated that they had missed the opening minutes due to an apparent administrative error. According to a report from The Sun, it is understood that part of the reason for the delayed entry was due to the length of searches that were conducted by stewards, with one fan labelling it, "the worst I’ve ever seen it."
Additionally, the club have employed a new ticketing system for the 2025/26 season using Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to gain entry to the stadium. Prior to the game, the club made an announcement asking supporters to have their tickets downloaded.
It is not the only time that attending supporters have experienced issues when trying to enter the stadium this year. The club were criticised for their new system after their match against Arsenal, with supporters facing issues when trying to access Old Trafford before they were eventually sent to the ticketing office by stewards. There were also further issues ahead of last week's 1-0 loss against Everton.

United Take Lead in Second Half
Despite United's struggles in the first half, the Red Devils emerged from half-time looking the more motivated of the two sides. And they eventually found the breakthrough, as Diogo Dalot popped up with an unlikely strike from the middle of the penalty area.
Amorim will be hoping that his side can hold on to the lead now. A win would put them on 24 points, level with fourth-placed Chelsea, who they would be behind on goal difference.
