How Manchester United’s players rated in the home fixture with West Ham.

Manchester United had to settle for a 1-1 draw against West Ham, after giving up a second half lead.

Diogo Dalot had put United ahead, before Soungoutou Magassa equalised from a corner. It was a disappointing night.

The result means United have gained just one point from the past two home games, and end the week in eighth place in the table.

Confident with every action, he gave the defence the assurance they needed. Could do nothing about the equaliser.

A quiet yet effective game from Mazraoui, who seems better suited for a back three than at wing-back. He made a critical late interception to deny a possible chance at goal.

Wes Brown is backing Ayden Heaven! Do you share his confidence?

“I think we’ve said it every time he’s played: he’s been excellent. He’s done his job and hasn’t looked out of place in any way.”

Heaven played well on his first league start of the season and tried to be a threat from set pieces. He was substituted at half-time after picking up an early yellow card.

Another calm performance from Shaw. Did everything that was required of him.

A constant danger with a willingness to dribble into the box, needed his decision-making to be a little sharper at times.

He was caught napping defensively for West Ham’s goal from the corner, when he failed to get goalside of his man.

Good defensive block in the first half. He worked hard after a slow start, but lacked his usual threat from set pieces.

Good deliveries into the box, he should have scored with a volley in the first half that glanced off the post and wide.

A great goal to put United ahead, with Gary Neville noting that he took it ‘like a striker’. The team still lack threat down the left compared to Amad on the right, but this was one of Dalot’s best recent performances.

Played with a real zip and determination, and was always looking to make something happen. Unlucky not to win a second half penalty.

Helped United’s attack by getting into danger areas, but he lacked a cutting edge.

Linked up well by dropping deep and made some touches, but needed to get in the box more. He forced Aaron Wan-Bissaka to clear an effort off the line.

SUBS

On at half-time, Yoro slotted in well in defence and showed no sign of hangover from the Palace game.

On for the final 20 minutes, Dorgu made a real effort to get forward and try and join the attack, but was unable to make an impact.

An expected change for the returning Cunha, Mount did not build on his performance against Palace.

Once again Manuel Ugarte came on when Manchester United were leading, and saw his side give up the advantage. It’s trend that is beyond worrying.

Late substitute, it’s still good to see him back, he showed quality in possession every time he got on the ball.
