Manchester United 1-1 West Ham match highlights and reaction
Man Utd were held to a draw when they faced West Ham in the Premier League on Thursday night.
The 19-year-old was handed his first league start of the season as he replaced the injured Matthijs De Ligt in the starting line up on Thursday night. Heaven endured a shaky start to the match and picked up an early yellow card for a wild foul on West Ham forward Jarrod Bowen.
Heaven improved as the first-half went on but was replaced by Leny Yoro at half-time, with Amorim unwilling to take a risk in case he picked up another booking and was subsequently sent off. United took the lead when Diogo Dalot fired in from close range but had to settle for a point when Sougountou Magassa fired in a rebound from a corner in the closing stages.

Why Heaven was taken off at half-time vs West Ham
Ruben Amorim believes Manchester United missed the aerial presence of Ayden Heaven in the second-half of their draw with West Ham on Thursday night. The teenage centre-back was taken off at half-time due to being on a yellow card but might have prevented them from conceding from a corner kick in the closing stages.
Speaking after the match, Amorim was quizzed on why he decided to take Heaven off at half-time after the bold call to name him in the starting line up.
"Of course it was the yellow card and we tried to press high and leave one centre back with a striker all the time so any foul there could be a yellow," he told Match of the Day. "And we missed Ayden in the set pieces, so we need to be smarter when we play the game."
Heaven might have to wait a while for his next chance in a United shirt, with Matthijs de Ligt expected to return to the squad against Wolves on Monday night. The Dutch defender missed the West Ham draw due to a 'small injury' issue and should be fit enough for a place in the squad early next week.
