Ruben Amorim must immediately axe 'torrid' Man United player after what he did vs West Ham…

Ruben Amorim has some big decisions to make after another difficult night as Manchester United boss.

The Red Devils faced West Ham in the Premier League and took the lead through Diogo Dalot, before attempting to see out the game with a 1-0 lead. However, that didn't go to plan with Soungoutou Magassa slotting home from a corner to earn a 1-1 draw.

While Man United should have seen the game out for a crucial victory, some players did put in strong performances throughout. Others, however, have perhaps proven why they're not ready to represent such an iconic club.

Ayden Heaven Endures 'Torrid' Time

One player who struggled was Ayden Heaven. The 19-year-old was handed his first-ever Premier League start against West Ham, leaving many surprised.

A summer signing from Arsenal, the ex-West Ham trainee had the opportunity to impress against his old club but endured a shocking first half that saw him hooked at the break.

Completing just six passes, Heaven failed to win a single ground or aerial duel throughout. He was even booked just eight minutes into the game to leave with him a disciplinary tightrope to walk during the rest of the game.

Taking to X, The Sun's Manchester United correspondent Samuel Luckhurst said: "Pretty torrid opening 11 minutes from Heaven. Got too tight against Wilson, booked and even that back pass did Lammens no favours. Big call pitting him against Wilson."

Ultimately, he was hooked at half-time and replaced by Leny Yoro for the second half.

Heaven Needs Patience At Manchester United

It was a poor night for Heaven against West Ham at Old Trafford, but it's important that he's given time.

The defender is just 19 years of age and making his first-ever Premier League start in a high-pressure occasion for Manchester United. It felt like a big sink-or-swim moment for him which didn't go to plan. But that doesn't mean that he should be written off.

Heaven needs patience to develop and adapt to life with the Red Devils. Whether that is playing his part as a squad player for the rest of the season, or even heading out on loan to an EFL side, the focus has to be on building his experience for the future.

Marking Callum Wilson and Jarrod Bowen was always going to be a difficult task for such a young player, but Amorim must make sure he learns his lesson from this one. Heaven must take responsibility, but context must be given for why he found it so difficult.
