Paul Scholes has sensationally called out Ruben Amorim for his treatment of Kobbie Mainoo following Manchester United's match against West Ham at Old Trafford.
United went into the game against relegation-threatened West Ham knowing a win would see them jump up into fifth in the Premier League table.
The Red Devils were the overwhelming favourites to pick up the victory, but they were far from their best as the spoils were shared. Diogo Dalot's opener just before the hour-mark set United on course for all three points, but Soungoutou Magassa's strike - his first in English football - ensured the game ended in a 1-1 draw.
Paul Scholes Accuses Ruben Amorim of 'Ruining' Kobbie Mainoo
kobbie mainoo
Last week, Ruben Amorim was asked about Mainoo, who has been seriously struggling for game-time this season. The hugely talented youngster has played just 261 minutes of football this season, with his only start coming in the EFL Cup against Grimsby.
Despite his lack of minutes, Amorim maintained he sees him as a starter. He said, per Man Utd's official website: "You talk a lot of about Kobbie, I have more players in my squad that want to be in the World Cup, so it's a little bit unfair. I will use Kobbie and the rest of them to try for the team to win. So, I'm not just focused on one individual.
"I want to help all my players and I know how special it is for a player to play World Cup. My job is to win as a team and to focus as a team. So, Kobbie Mainoo is in the same situation as the other guys. If I feel that is the best thing to win the game, I will do it. So that's it.
"I see him as a starter like the other guys. I just have to make a choice and then in the end, it’s not been Kobbie. But in the future, I don't know. I just want to win games. I don't care who is playing. I just want to win games."

Ruben Amorim’s Kobbie Mainoo Comments After Man Utd 1-1 West Ham Labelled ‘Pathetic’
Ruben Amorim has explained his substitution decisions and why he didn't bring Kobbie Mainoo on during Manchester United 1-1 West Ham.
Since those comments, Mainoo came on for the last minute against Crystal Palace and was an unused substitute against West Ham. And following their game against the Hammers, Scholes has called out Amorim.
"'Bulls***,' Scholes posted on Instagram in response to Amorim's comments about Mainoo, per the Daily Mail.
"The kid is being ruined, not being played in a team that can't control a game of football. Hate seeing homegrown players leave but it's probably best for him now, enough is enough."
Scholes' post has now been deleted but not before screenshots were taken and spread over social media.
What Next For Kobbie Mainoo and Manchester United
Ruben Amorim
Mainoo, just 20 years old, is a huge talent and will no doubt attract interest from across Europe if he was to be made available for transfer. For now, he will be hoping he can force his way into Amorim's plans so he can maximise his chances of being included in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 World Cup.
United are now eighth in the Premier League table and are two points behind fourth-placed Chelsea in the race for a Champions League berth. The Red Devils will be looking to return to winning ways when they travel to rock-bottom Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday December 8.
The Manchester giants will be huge favourites to come away with all three points given Wolves are winless and have picked up just two points from their opening 14 matches.
