Man Utd fans think they’ve found the perfect Ruben Amorim replacement for Man Utd

Another limp draw and an even worse performance against West Ham continue to solidify Man Utd’s status as a bona fide mid-table team under Ruben Amorim.

On paper, a fixture list that looked more accommodating is instead bringing out the worst of Ruben Amorim’s setup – its inability to beat low blocks.

The tactical limitations, combined with stubbornness in refusing to adapt, have seen many Man Utd fans finally turning on Ruben Amorim.

He’s being accused of taking the soul out of the club, which is “Youth. Courage. Success”. Fans think they have the perfect replacement to embody those traits.

Man Utd fans have two major Ruben Amorim complaints

The results can be up and down, and the players won’t always perform at their best level, but the only thing that is in the manager’s hands is to equip his players with the best possible tools to win.

When the manager’s thinking of what’s best for the club goes against what’s actually best, it’s time to leave before doing further damage to his own reputation or the club’s prospects.

Two major criticisms of Amorim’s management have been his reluctance to trust youth players and his puzzling approach to staging comebacks.

He’s managing like the youth academy doesn’t exist, despite his senior players letting him down, and those from the academy who were already in the first team can’t get a look in.

Then there’s his system, which is so sacrosanct that United field five to seven defensive players even when they are chasing a goal.

It goes against Man Utd’s ethos, and it goes against Sir Alex Ferguson’s best practice. This wouldn’t be acceptable even if the results were good (Remember Mourinho being hounded for defensive football?), but for a manager having historically poor results, it’s indefensible.

Fans think Cesc Fabregas is the perfect Amorim replacement

Right now, the fanbase is just so tired that they just want the excitement of supporting the club to return; results are secondary.

What is your MESSAGE to Ruben Amorim after the 1-1 draw vs West Ham?

“We had good moments and we lost a little bit of control after the goal. We should have closed the game when we scored the first one.”

They need a manager who understands the importance of youth, who is brave in trying to go for the win, and throws the kitchen sink when he’s losing.

Enter Cesc Fabregas, who is working miracles at Como in Serie A, and whose philosophy is going viral on X because of how closely it aligns with United’s ethos.

“He’s working wonders at Como. Would love him as our coach,” said one as a response to a video of Fabregas praising Mainoo’s fearlessness.

“He’s the only one I want,” said another in the replies section of a video of Fabregas, where he spoke about trusting youth players.

“I’d take Fabregas. Knows the Premier League inside out, great with youngsters, and clearly not a negative manager,” said another.

“Send in the application! He’s literally describing the game [Man Utd vs West Ham] today,” said a fourth below a video where Fabregas explains how going defensive to protect a lead backfires.

“Please get Cesc!” pleaded another, tagging Man Utd’s official account in the process, but another was wary of the cycle, writing, “These players will get him sacked too.”

Another fan suggested that United should send Mainoo to Como in January if Amorim won’t play him, with Fabregas developing Nico Paz into a world-class talent there.

Either way, the clock should be ticking for Amorim unless something changes, which has already been ruled out by the stubborn man himself.
