Manchester United could add a new midfielder to their squad in the January transfer window.

Manchester World revealed United could break their club transfer record to sign a top midfielder, though they will also be aware to any market opportunities that might arise next month.
Ruben Amorim would be happy to sign a player if they offer long-term value to the club, while Kobbie Mainoo could look to leave amid a continued lack of playing time this season. The 20-year-old has yet to start a Premier League match during the current campaign and knows he must play regularly to have any hope of going to the World Cup.
