Man Utd fans name Man of the Match vs West Ham as Bruno Fernandes narrowly edged out by standout teammate

Manchester United fans picked one key Ruben Amorim first-team player for the Man of the Match award ahead of Bruno Fernandes after the 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Bruno Fernandes continued to play from deep within the Red Devils’ midfield pivot alongside Casemiro in Thursday evening’s Premier League clash at Old Trafford.

The 31-year-old Manchester United captain struggled to make a major impact over the course of the 90 minutes in the Red Devils’ match with the Hammers.

However, Fernandes did come close to scoring a sensational strike during United’s 1-1 draw with West Ham, only for his sublime shot to flick off the outside of the post.

Diogo Dalot opened the scoring for the Red Devils in the second half, but West Ham found an equaliser against United thanks to Soungoutou Magassa’s impact.

Manchester United’s official website revealed how Red Devils supporters cast their votes in the aftermath of the disappointing 1-1 draw against West Ham.

Fernandes finished second in the poll in the eyes of United fans, with the Red Devils midfielder securing 23 per cent of the votes that were cast after the match.

The United skipper was overshadowed by the impact of Portugal teammate Diogo Dalot, who came out on top as Man of the Match with 20 per cent of the vote.

Noussair Mazraoui finished ahead of Dalot in second place in the United fan-made poll, with the Red Devils full-back securing 18.87 per cent of the fan vote.

However, Amad Diallo was crowned United In Focus’ fan-led Man-of-the-Match pick after the Ivorian winger took home 34.66 per cent of the vote in the poll.

Fernandes finished a distant fourth to Amad Diallo in the TalkingPoints readers’ poll and secured only 9.07 per cent of the vote cast by United fans after the match.
