Manchester United are continuing to resist any loan offers for Joshua Zirkzee, with it made clear ‘they want the money now’.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport. They report that sporting director Frederic Massara remains in negotiations with Manchester United over the striker.
They report that while Zirkzee said yes to the move to Roma in a flash, Manchester United are proving more resistant.
They have already declined Roma’s initial offer of a loan with an option to buy tied to Champions League qualification. They want to cash in on Zirkzee now, not in six months. Hence they have made it clear that ‘they want the money now’ during negotiations.
Jim Ratcliffe has reportedly set strict negotiations for January. Ther will be ‘no freebies’. That’s despite Zirkzee’s will being ‘ironclad’. He wants to join Roma and has made that clear to those negotiating.
Roma are becoming edgy about the affair because of a lack of progress and Manchester United’s tough stance. They’re looking at alternative options, such as Yuri Alberto.
The key will be how much owners the Friedkins put on the table. If it’s enough, they may be able to satisfy Manchester United’s demands for money now, not in six months.
