JJ Gabriel is exciting, but Man Utd have another 15-year-old who just declared himself to Jason Wilcox

Manchester United’s U18 side are back to winning games with ease, and this weekend saw a 3-0 thrashing of Newcastle.

Darren Fletcher will be delighted with his youthful U18 side after another comfortable victory for Manchester United this weekend over Newcastle United.

Manchester United were 7-0 victors over Liverpool last weekend, igniting a form that fans of the academy became accustomed to over recent years.

This weekend, United beat Newcastle 3-0 with two goalscorers, both notching up their first for the club at this level, showcasing that their promotion is deserved.

Manchester United wonderkid Douka Nkoto stars for U18s

For once, JJ Gabriel was not the star of United’s U18 performance, although one moment of skill was excellent. It was instead Douka Nkoto who stole all the headlines from this game.

Nkoto scored twice and provided one assist for Noah Ajayi, all while having only come off the bench at half-time.

WHAT did you make of Douka Nkoto’s performance for Manchester United U18?⭐️

Can he repeat JJ Gabriel's breakout? How good can Nkoto be?

Nkoto is only 15, yet he is already considered a very exciting talent for his ridiculous numbers in lower age groups.

More United News

This season, Nkoto has two goals and two assists for the U18s, despite only making a handful of appearances, which speaks to his quality, stepping up so fluently into the higher age category and immediately making an impact.

Comparisons will be made with Gabriel, considering both are playing and impressing three years above their age, while also being two of the most exciting talents in the academy.

Douka Nkoto and his twin, Bassirou, are both seen as elite prospects for United; however, with the latter out this season, injured, it has been Douka who now looks at the desired level to play U18 football regularly.

Douka Nkoto could follow JJ Gabriel hype

There is little debate that JJ Gabriel is the academy’s biggest talent in terms of ability and potential; however, this means Nkoto doesn’t quite get the praise he probably deserves.

Not only this game, but Nkoto has also impressed earlier this season, looking threatening against the higher calibre opposition.

For this reason, it is not inconceivable that Nkoto will soon be considered alongside Gabriel as players who have massive futures at Old Trafford.

Of course, Nkoto has a lot to do before he will be in the bracket of Gabriel, who is considered a future world beater, but he is clearly top-class.

One to watch over the remainder of this season.
