Man Utd loanee has his best performance yet in FA Cup clash, scores brace in penalty win

Manchester United’s loanee list had another success story on Saturday afternoon as the FA Cup continued.

Jonny Evans will be thrilled with several of the loans he arranged for Manchester United this season, making himself an undisputed success already in his position.

Harry Amass is the most obvious positive to take from the loan list, becoming arguably Sheffield Wednesday’s best and most impactful player.

Elsewhere, Dan Gore scored a great goal for Rotherham as he continues to catch the eye, having finally shone after two unsuccessful loans.

But now, a new name will please Evans with his performances.

Ethan Ennis has a breakout performance for Fleetwood Town

After Ethan Ennis had a very hot and cold loan with Doncaster last season, this campaign has been better. Ennis joined Fleetwood Town, looking to right these wrongs and while far from perfect, there have been solid signs.

Ennis had a perfect start at Fleetwood, but he hasn’t really made himself stand out, apart from in the FA Cup.

In round one of the competition, Ennis provided an assist, and now he’s gone even more decisive.

Fleetwood were taking on Luton Town at home, and Ennis scored twice to claim a 2-2 draw. Two goals then led to a penalty shootout, with Fleetwood coming out on top.

In particular, Ennis’ first goal was special as he placed a trivela shot into the top corner from the edge of the area.

Manchester United could see Ennis transform after this

While this performance was a special one, Ennis could do better with a team that allows him to shine regularly.

United have lots of loanees this season, but Ennis is arguably one who is ready right now to be playing for a club regularly in the lower divisions.

Ennis has played a lot of minutes for Fleetwood, but his impact just hasn’t reflected how good a player he is. However, Ennis’ confidence could be transformed after his two-goal outing against Luton.

This could set him up for a big second half of the season, and it would be needed as Ennis has to be playing like he did this weekend regularly.
