The north Londoners’ home form has been awful and regularly criticised by the fans and pundits. Xavi Simons, starting his first game in a month, was at the heart of everything good going forward for Spurs. After squaring up Richarlison for the home side’s opener in the 25th minute, the Dutchman netted his first goal since joining the club from RB Leipzig in the summer.
Mohammed Kudus was denied a goal after the break, and had it not been Caoimhin Kelleher in the Brentford goal, Tottenham could have won by a far bigger margin.

Frank came into the game facing Tottenham sack questions but got exactly the performance he would have craved against the club he left in the summer. With a 2-0 lead, the Lilywhites were cheered off for the break, in stark contrast to recent weeks when they have been booed off at half-time and full-time.
This showed how positively the fans acknowledged the team when they saw everyone fighting to compete and win. After paying the highest ticket prices in the entire division, this is the least they can expect and it is the responsibility of Frank and Co. to thoroughly entertain them with front-footed, aggressive and pressing style of football. Today, the team was hungry to win and we hope this is the benchmark they will set moving forward.
When the team and fans are together, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium can become a fortress.
