Wolves manager Rob Edwards believes Manchester United have "loads of really good players", and will arrive at Molineux with a "clear way of playing" when they make the visit on Monday night. United suffered another setback against West Ham earlier in the week, drawing 1-1 against the struggling London club, despite taking the lead through Diogo Dalot in the 58th minute.

Ruben Amorim looked furious after the final whistle and many have questioned why United are unable to build a run of good results. The Reds have the chance to respond against Wolves on Monday, and they are heavy favourites to claim a victory against a team with just two points this season.

Wolves have struggled and Edwards was appointed from Middlesbrough to replace Vitor Pereira last month. Edwards spoke to reporters at a press conference ahead of facing United and said: “They've got loads of really good players. Like every team, they'll have a clear way of playing, and we'll be able to have a really good look at it, but I need to focus on us, and I need to see us.

"We’ve got to turn up. We’ve got to expect the best Manchester United to turn up, and we have got to. I don’t want to see what we saw on Wednesday’s first half.”

Edwards added: “We're in this bad, bad situation, but how do you want this to go? Do you want to fade away, or do you want to fight? There are things in our control that we can do.

"Fighting, running hard, winning duels, those sorts of things are in our control. You can't control a win, but you can control the other side, intensity, how often you run forward.

"Are you sprinting back? Are you trying to take risks? Are you trying to be brave? We saw that on the weekend, and we didn't see it on Wednesday. We’ve got to control the things we can control at the moment, and hopefully then results will come. That's the biggest message.”

Edwards oversaw Luton Town's promotion to the Premier League in 2022/2023, but the Hatters were immediately sent back down to the Championship after collecting just 26 points.

Wolves are on course to be the worst team in Premier League history. They have amassed two points from 14 games and could beat Derby County's record of just 11 points in 2007/08.

Amorim was asked about Wolves' failure to win a league game this season and said: "Everything can happen and that will change. There is no team in the history of the Premier League that didn’t win one game.

"It can be any game. So we need to try to improve, rest the players, work really well and prepare a tough match because with us it’s always a tough match."

Matthijs de Ligt was absent due to injury against West Ham. Amorim said "I think so, we will see" in response to a question about whether the Dutchman would be available to face Wolves.

De Ligt was the only United player to have played every league minute this season until this week.
