The FA Cup third round draw is a highly anticipated moment in the football calendar. Premier League and Championship sides will enter the competition, with numerous lower-league clubs hoping to be awarded a glamour tie.
The third round will consist of 64 sides, with the top two divisions added to the 20 second round winners. The FA Cup draw will include at least two sixth-tier clubs due to two all-non-league ties this weekend.
Slough Town host Macclesfield in one of the non-league clashes taking place on Sunday afternoon. National League side Boreham Wood, Gateshead and Carlisle United will also hope to cause an upset in their ties today (Sunday).
Most of the clubs in the third round draw will want to be pitted against the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United, with eye-catching matches helping to boost teams’ finances. Here are all the details about the FA Cup third round draw.
Third round draw start time
The FA Cup third round draw will take place on Monday, December 8, at approximately 6.40pm UK time. The draw will be conducted by Peter Crouch and Joe Cole before kick-off between Brackley Town and Burton Albion, the final match of the second round.
How to watch the third round draw
The third round draw will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1. It will also be live-streamed on the discovery+ app.
Fans without a TNT Sports subscription can follow the draw on the TNT Sports YouTube channel. All the third round ties will be played over the weekend beginning Saturday, January 10.
