Report: Jason Wilcox issues message on Ruben Amorim's future at Man Utd ahead of Wolves

Manchester United director of football Jason Wilcox issued a clear message on Ruben Amorim’s future, as he told journalists after last week’s win over Crystal Palace to 'trust the process', according to Daily Mail journalist Chris Wheeler.

United’s performances under Amorim have again come under heavy scrutiny this season, with the Red Devils struggling for consistency under the Portuguese manager.

After winning three Premier League games in a row in October, United have taken just six points from their next five matches, including a 1-1 home draw with West Ham on Thursday.

Facing bottom-placed and winless Wolves next, it appears the club still stand behind Amorim, under whom United sit 12th heading into Monday’s game at Molineux.

Wilcox: Trust the Process

According to Wheeler, as Wilcox emerged from Selhurst Park after the Crystal Palace victory, he spoke to journalists and urged them to 'trust the process'.

The 54-year-old reportedly sent a clear message amid United’s struggles for consistency under Amorim this term, with just one win in their last five league games.

Amorim took over at Old Trafford in November last year, replacing Erik ten Hag, and oversaw the club’s worst-ever Premier League finish, coming 15th in his first season.

The Portuguese tactician has won six of 14 games in the new campaign and was knocked out of the Carabao Cup in the second round in August after a shock penalty defeat to Grimsby Town.

United have struggled to score in their last three games, netting just three times in the absence of summer signing Benjamin Sesko.

The Slovenia international remains sidelined after picking up a knee injury in the 2-2 draw at Tottenham in early November.

He is expected to return before the end of the year, potentially coinciding with Bryan Mbeumo’s departure to the Africa Cup of Nations.

Man Utd Could Return for Gallagher

Atletico Madrid midfielder Conor Gallagher in action

According to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Fabrizio Romano, Man United are prioritising the signing of a new midfielder in 2026 and could return for Atletico Madrid star Conor Gallagher.

The England international has struggled for regular minutes in Spain this season and remains on United’s shortlist after the club attempted to sign him during the summer transfer window.

It remains unclear whether United will be able to secure a new midfielder in January, with deals for Brighton’s Carlos Baleba and Crystal Palace’s Elliot Anderson considered difficult at this stage of the season.
