Man Utd Make Decision On Signing Under 17 World Cup Ace

Man Utd have “rejected” the opportunity to snap up Be Sport Academy midfielder Mouhamed Dabo, according to Manchester World reporter Rich Fay.

The teenager is believed to have had a trial with the Red Devils earlier this season, but he did not do enough to secure a contract.

Dabo has been linked with moves to both United and Chelsea in recent weeks following his performances for Senegal at the Under-17 World Cup.

The 17-year-old made 4 appearances in Qatar last month, before his country were knocked out by Uganda in the round of 32.

Dabo has been tipped to join a Croatian club

It was reported last week that the youngster had been snapped up by Croatian minnows NK Kustosija, although that has been disputed by Be Sport Academy. Speaking to AfricaFoot, their communications officer, Rassoul Diagne, said:

“Mouhamed is currently a Be Sport Academy player. He did not sign with NK Kustosija. The player did not validate the collaboration regarding the officialisation of the transfer with the Croatian club.”

It should be noted that Dabo may have signed a pre-contract agreement with Kustosija, which may not need the approval of Be Academy, but it is a situation to keep an eye on.

Man Utd are pursuing another young midfielder

Reports in the Greek media have suggested that the Red Devils have tabled a €28m (£24.5m) offer for Olympiakos’s Christos Mouzakitis.

The 18-year-old is attracting plenty of interest, with Real Madrid and Arsenal among his other suitors.

Mouzaiktis may play the same position as Dabo, as well as being a similar age, but he already has plenty of experience at senior level. He has played 53 times for Olympiakos since making his first-team debut and he has also been capped 7 times by Greece.
