I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! champion Angry Ginge received some handy tips from last year's runner-up Coleen Rooney before venturing into the Australian jungle. The Manchester-born content creator was crowned King of the Jungle on Sunday night.

Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, launched his Twitch channel at 19, initially streaming FIFA gameplay. His online stardom has exploded since 2020, with the devoted Manchester United supporter regularly teaming up with other prominent content creators and sporting personalities.

Before flying out to Australia, where he won over viewers and triumphed over E4 Celebs Go Dating receptionist Tom Read Wilson and EastEnders star Shona McGarty for the crown, it's emerged that Ginge was given some precious guidance from another well-known personality.

During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, United and England icon Wayne Rooney, married to the 2024 I'm A Celebrity runner-up, disclosed that pals Ginge and fellow campmate Aitch were offered some pointers from his wife ahead of their jungle stint.

"She [Coleen] gave them a few tips. It was little things like, when you go to the toilet empty your water bottle out so they give you fresh water," Rooney explained.

"Speaking to Coleen, it is tough and it is real out there," he continued. "She really enjoyed it. She loved her time in there. It gave her really great memories."

Rooney's other half was a crowd-pleaser during her stint on the popular ITV programme but missed out on the top prize 12 months back to McFly frontman Danny Jones.

However, Ginge wasn't the footballer's pick for this year's champion as he confessed ahead of the finale: "I want to come on and give Aitch my support. He's been outstanding.

"He's been himself and you've seen at times him get a little bit emotional," Rooney continued about the rapper. "It's good to see, because it's showing he's vulnerable as well at times. He's missing his family at home."

Yet it was Ginge who snatched victory on Saturday, with the 24-year-old breaking down in floods of tears when Ant and Dec announced his triumph.

Before revealing who the public had voted as their winner, the presenting duo disclosed they'd clocked up their biggest audience response in a decade.

"I don't think I can swear, but I feel amazing," declared Ginge. "Honestly, a dream come true. I didn't think I could go all this way never mind win. Thank you to everyone who voted."

Speaking about his jungle ordeal, he reflected: "It was a lot harder than I thought it'd be. I'd reached out to people before I went in to get some advice, but nobody warned me about what I was about to go through.

"No one said it was going to be that hard. That was the hardest thing I've ever done and was a real mental test. There were so many times I wanted to throw the towel in."
