Manchester United man Marcus Rashford is currently on loan at Barcelona, and has an option to make the move permanent.

Marcus Rashford was one of Man United’s biggest stories in the summer, as he left to join Barcelona on loan after he spent the second half of last season on loan at Premier League rivals Aston Villa.

However, fresh reports are suggesting that a new club are interested in signing Rashford, and could try and hijack Barcelona’s move for him with a potential swap deal, which could seriously tempt Man United to turn Barcelona down.

PSG swap deal emerges for Rashford

According to new reports, PSG are interested in making a move for Rashford ahead of Barcelona, as they look to further boost Luis Enrique’s excellent squad for another go at winning the Champions League.

Football Insider reports that PSG could tempt United by offering a swap deal for Rashford instead of straight cash, a swap that Man United would really want to accept. Former Premier League CEO and football consultant, Keith Wyness, revealed that PSG could swap Rashford for winger Bradley Barcola.

He said: “Well, the interesting news and development on that story is that PSG are claiming to be coming in here, and there could be some sort of player swap deal with Bradley Barcola, which makes sense, I think, for United.”

Barclola is an exceptional talent, and he has a market value of around £61m, which makes this deal a no-brainer compared to any £30m deal with Barcelona. So far this season, the 23-year-old has made 18 appearances for PSG, scoring five goals and providing three assists.

Is a move to PSG for Rashford possible?

There is a chance that Rashford could move to PSG rather than Barcelona, but it very much depends on whether the La Liga club rejects the option to buy. Seeing as United and Barcelona have already agreed on a £30m fee for Rashford, it is now up to Barcelona as to whether they want to make his move to the Nou Camp a permanent one.

It is understood that Rashford wants to stay at Barcelona, and the club wants to keep him because of his stunning form. So, with that in mind, there is only really one way in which the PSG swap could become a more realistic prospect, and that is all based on wages.

Barcelona are in a precarious financial position at the moment, so it could become an issue when they have to agree on a wage with Rashford. He currently earns £240,000 per week based on his Man United contract, which won’t be easy for Barcelona to match.
