Wolves star warns Ruben Amorim ahead of Man Utd’s trip, ‘We have been…’

A trip to winless Wolves is, at least on paper, just the fixture Man Utd need to get some momentum back, but things are no longer as simple for Ruben Amorim.

This Man Utd team would rather face a Chelsea or a Liverpool side that presses them and allows them to play on the counter-attack.

Results against Everton and West Ham have shown Wolves the blueprint to defeat Ruben Amorim’s setup, which he will never change.

Wolves star David Moller Wolfe has now warned Ruben Amorim that what they have been doing in training is sure to show up in the coming games.

David Wolfe warns Ruben Amorim ahead of Man Utd vs Wolves

All the talk about intensity and aggression follows Amorim at Old Trafford, but the issues are more systemic; the same can’t be said for Wolves.

If you’re yet to win a game in the league in December, then the issues are almost certainly, at least partly, down to intensity and aggression.

Wolves hoped that the hiring of Rob Edwards would change things for them, and after an encouraging outing against Aston Villa, they took a step back against Forest.

Wolves’ David Moller Wolfe, revelling in qualifying for the World Cup alongside Erling Haaland, has now said that his club side are also stepping up.

He said (via Sky Sports): “We have been stepping it up since Rob has come in. I think that will show in the results in the games coming up. We train with a lot more intensity now. We train as we play a game and, for me, that’s so important.”

It would be peak Man Utd if the winless side this season starts clicking against them, because Amorim’s system looks extremely easy to at least get a draw against, as long as you defend deep and move quickly on transitions.

A must-win game for Man Utd

Amorim takes pride in saying that he gets the pressure of being at Man Utd and the need to win every game, but every time he doesn’t, he wants to quickly move the attention to the next game.

The words aren’t quite as charming anymore because the actions on the field aren’t in sync with his interviews.

The game against Wolves is firmly in the “must-win” territory for him, because a big section of Man Utd fans has lost faith in him.

It’s not even just about the results; it’s his modus operandi, where there’s no trust in youth, no courage to win games, and no success to warrant skipping over youth and courage.

It doesn’t seem like the youth and courage part will change anytime soon, so the least this club can do right now is to give fans some success to celebrate.
