Harry Amass goes from strength to strength on loan from Man Utd, making himself undeniable

Harry Amass is Manchester United’s biggest success story on loan this season, and he has now unlocked another level by overwhelmingly winning another honour.

When Man Utd sanctioned a loan for Harry Amass to a club in peril like Sheffield Wednesday, eyebrows were raised among the fans.

However, Amass has come out of that trial by fire with his reputation enhanced massively, becoming a fan favourite for a club that hasn’t had much to celebrate.

Now, he has affirmed that fan favourite status by winning the club’s latest honour as an overwhelming favourite.

Harry Amass achieves 82% votes from Sheffield Wednesday fans

Amass was challenged by United to succeed in a side that had everything stacked against them at the start of the season.

As expected, things haven’t gone according to plan for The Owls, getting hit by another points deduction in the middle of the season and struggling to win games.

It makes Amass’ performances all the more remarkable, as he has been an ever-present bright spot for the team despite the team-wide malaise.

Those performances have now been rewarded by the fans as Amass has been awarded Wednesday’s Player of the Month for November.

Amass received a remarkable 82% of votes, as he won in a landslide over Barry Bannan and ex-Utd striker Charlie McNeil.

Wednesday played six games in November, failing to win any, but Amass played all but one minute of these games, regularly standing out as their best player on the side.

Amass is making himself undeniable for Man Utd

With every passing game, Amass is going from strength to strength and, in the process, raising his prospects of first-team football at Old Trafford.

Travis Binnion recently named Amass and Radek Vitek as the two most likely loanees to make it at the club, and neither is doing himself any harm.

Amass, in particular, might be making himself undeniable because United don’t have particularly outstanding options at left-back/left wing-back.

Diogo Dalot and Patrick Dorgu are doing a serviceable, but unremarkable job in that position at the moment, and if Amass continues his growth this season, he could become the wild-card option.

The manager will need to trust him, but by excelling in the Championship for Wednesday, he has ticked two major boxes – his physicality and his mentality.

There’s nothing stopping him from taking the left-back/left wing-back spot at United.
