Confirmed Manchester United starting XI vs Wolves, Ruben Amorim drops forward

Ruben Amorim has named the Manchester United starting XI to face Wolves.

Manchester United have another opportunity to climb up the Premier League table, this time facing bottom side Wolves.

After a disappointing home draw against West Ham, Manchester United can try and bounce back on the road at Wolves.

Wolves have had a terrible season, gaining only two points so far. They are looking for their first win, with new manager Rob Edwards taking charge.

Ruben Amorim’s side cannot underestimate Wolves, who actually beat Manchester United home and away last season.

Here is a look at the starting XI named by the head coach…

Starting XI reaction

Manchester United’s starting line-up should have enough to get past this Wolves side. But it would be wrong to say we are overly confident.

The big team news is Joshua Zirkzee dropping to the bench, with Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount and Bryan Mbeumo forming the front three.

Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire miss out through injury again, providing another chance for Ayden Heaven in the starting XI.

Once again, Kobbie Mainoo is on the bench. Perhaps he can come on and score another dramatic winner like he did at Molineux in 2023/24.

Are you confident Man Utd will beat Wolves?

Wolves are without key midfielder Joao Gomes, who is suspended for the fixture following an accumulation of yellow cards.

United are 12th in the Premier League table, and can move up to sixth place with a victory.
