Fernandes pulled all the strings, but this superb star put in his best ever United performance…

Manchester United cruised to a 4-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday evening. Here are our player ratings from the game.

(A score of 6 is around average)

Senne Lammens 6 – Barely had anything to do all game. Couldn’t do much about the goal.

Noussair Mazraoui 8 – A rock at the back for United! produced a string of crucial blocks and tackles that kept United firmly in control. There was one incredible second-half sequence where he personally made three blocks in quick succession to single-handedly deny Wolves inside the penalty area.

Ayden Heaven 6.5 – Did his job. A lot better than last week and got some more valuable minutes under his belt.

Luke Shaw 7 – Strong challenge in the first half to keep up the pressure and played a big part in United’s second goal, winning the ball to spark the counter-attack.

Amad 7.5 – Didn’t get on the score sheet but his influence on the game was undeniable. A constant danger on the right and had a few cracks at goal.

Casemiro 6.5 – Excellent work to win the ball back for the first goal. Started brightly, intercepting and breaking up play but declined slightly as the game progressed.

Bruno Fernandes 9 – What a player! Brilliant turn and finish to break the deadlock after a poor pass from Matheus Cunha. Part of the build-up for the second goal before delivering an exquisite ball for Mason Mount to put the game to bed. Made no mistake from the spot-kick to complete his brace. Ran the show in the middle of the park and Wolves simply had no answer for him.

Diogo Dalot 7 – Improving game by game. Should have found the back of the net early on but made amends moments after the restart, assisting Bryan Mbeumo for United’s second of the game.

Bryan Mbeumo 8 – A few sloppy touches in the first half, but he grew into the game after the break and produced a clinical finish to restore United’s lead -his seventh goal for the club.

Mason Mount 8.5 – Stunning finish to make it 3-1 for United. Demonstrated a great understanding between himself and Fernandes. One of his best games for the club.

Matheus Cunha 4 – Didn’t do Fernandes any favours with his ‘assist’ but he’ll be glad it didn’t matter at the end of the day. A frustratingly underwhelming performance, highlighted by several missed chances and an overall lack of effectiveness.

Substitutes

Lisandro Martinez 6- Looked good when he came on. Slowly but surely building his fitness back up after a lengthy period on the sidelines.

Leny Yoro 6 – Helped get United over the line, picking up where Mazraoui and Heaven left off.

Kobbie Mainoo 5 – Just OK.

Joshua Zirkzee 5 -On the pitch for the dying embers of the game.

Patrick Dorgu 5 – Same as Zirkzee.
