Manchester United player ratings: 'Brilliant' 8/10 duo and 'much-improved' 7/10 impress in…

Bruno Fernandes pulled the strings as Manchester United defeated Wolves 4-1 in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim made one change to his starting line up with Mason Mount selected in place of Joshua Zirkzee. United were the better side in the opening exchanges and went close when Diogo Dalot and Bryan Mbeumo both drew decent stops from Sam Johnstone.

A low quality opening soon had an even worse quality goal when Bruno Fernandes capitalised on a catalogue of defensive errors and forced the ball over the line, even though he had initially slipped over in the box. They almost had a second when Mbeumo had another shot saved before Matheus Cunha saw his rebound cleared off the line by Toti.

United should have been out of sight at the break, but found themselves level when Jean-Ricner Bellegarde capitalised on some poor defensive play and put the ball in the back of the net. It was another huge test of character for Amorim's side but they responded well and regained their lead when Mbeumo finished a fluid counter-attack.

The home side responded well once again, but fell further behind when Mount latched onto a brilliant Fernandes cross and volleyed in a third goal of the game. Any hopes of a comeback were then killed when Fernandes added a fourth from the penalty spot after a handball by Yerson Mosquera.

Here is how we rated the United players at Molineux.

Commanding in the United goal. He was brilliant from crosses and calm in possession. Nothing he could do about the Wolves goal.
