The Red Devils raised the levels after the break, scoring three goals unanswered for United to claim a substantial 4-1 victory over the league’s worst side.

Bruno Fernandes, Mason Mount and Bryan Mbeumo were all on the scoresheet in the win, raising confidence ahead of a clash with Bournemouth next Monday.

Here are the winners and losers from the game.

Winners

First, the winners.

Matheus Cunha: Back at his old stomping ground, Cunha was desperate for a goal and had more shots than anyone else on the pitch in the 4-1 win, but somehow left without scoring.

Cunha did however get an assist which will be equally as welcome for the Brazilian as he looks to build some momentum at the club.

Mason Mount: This season has been excellent for Mount and he continued to shine on Monday night as he bagged a third Premier League goal of the season – and two in three games.

Mount is one of the most important players United have right now and his status in the team is surely secured.

Ayden Heaven: Having had a difficult time against West Ham, Amorim put further faith in Heaven this week and was rewarded.

The young defender barely put a foot wrong for United at the back, dominating with and without the ball, it remains baffling how he got so few minutes this season up until recently.

Bruno Fernandes: Hasn’t been at his best this season, but Fernandes was top class against Wolves, having a hand in three of United’s goals. Two goals and an assist should be a confidence builder after some recent struggles.

Where would we be without Bruno Fernandes?

Hope you had him in your fantasy football team!

United will need Fernandes at his very best during the remainder of December with the loss of the AFCON duo in attack set to increase reliance on the Portuguese star.

Bryan Mbeumo: Since the end of the last international break, Mbeumo has caught criticism as he hasn’t been himself at all, but he was much better against Wolves.

Mbeumo got back on the scoresheet and could easily have had a couple more, but that is now seven for the season, an impressive tally given United’s struggles.

Kobbie Mainoo: Mainoo got a healthy chunk of minutes against Wolves and rewarded Amorim’s faith with a top class outing in which he didn’t put a foot wrong.

Mainoo deserves more minutes, and for now this performance has shown Amorim that exact point.

Loser

And the one loser from the game.

Shea Lacey: Sitting comfortably 4-1 ahead, it was a lay-up for Amorim to give the 18-year-old his debut in a pressure free situation, but instead Patrick Dorgu and Joshua Zirkzee were brought on.

Amorim could have silenced the questions around him trusting the academy, but chose not to which will be concerning for Lacey who hasn’t played in weeks now and deserved the cameo on Monday night.
