OPINION: Liverpool NEED To Sign£65m Winger In January Amid Mo Salah Exit Claims

Liverpool needs to replace Mo Salah in January after his recent spat with manager Arne Slot.

The Reds are in turmoil at the moment. They recently drew against Leeds United, and now sit ninth in the Premier League table. Arne Slot has a lot on his plate at the moment, including the pressure surrounding his job at Anfield.

However, Slot’s biggest issue at the moment is Mo Salah after the winger made comments following the Liverpool game, suggesting that he’d been “thrown under the bus” as Slot dropped him to the bench for the third consecutive game.

They face Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and it is understood that Slot is expected to leave Salah out of the squad after his comments. Amid the uncertainty surrounding Salah’s future, the Sun report that Saudi Pro League clubs are lining up bids to sign the winger in January.

Liverpool have to sign Semenyo in January

This season is a goner in terms of the Premier League title. But Liverpool still need to ensure they qualify for the Champions League, and also succeed in Europe this season. Salah will soon leave for AFCON, and may never play for Liverpool again, as he could leave in January, so the Reds need a replacement and fast.

Antoine Semenyo has been linked with a move from Bournemouth to Liverpool, and the winger is expected to have a £65m release clause in his contract. Man City and Man United have also been linked with Semenyo, but if Salah is to leave, Liverpool need to ensure they beat the Manchester clubs to his signature.

He plays on both wings, and has a playmaking ability that can rival Salah’s, so the 25-year-old is the ideal replacement for the Egyptian winger. He has made 14 appearances for Bournemouth this season, scoring six goals and providing four assists.

It feels a no-brainer, and it could just save Slot’s job and future at Anfield…
