Ruben Amorim has a new'brilliant'undroppable for Man Utd, he was at his'firing best'vs Wolves

Manchester United lived up to expectations with a convincing win away from home against Wolverhampton Wanderers, and the game saw some impressive performances.

Ruben Amorim will be thrilled with his team after securing a 4-1 win over Wolves on Monday night, although he will be aware that this result came against arguably the worst Premier League side of all time.

However, Manchester United can only beat the team in front of them and in that sense, it was a strong performance against Wolves, with the best news being that the return fixture comes later this month.

United’s thrashing of Wolves 4-1 was nevertheless a big win, which should reignite some confidence and shows that the Red Devils can improve levels when needed.

One player in particular was excellent and affirmed his status as undroppable.

Mount now has three for the season, yet his outing against Wolves was arguably the best display of the bunch, and it delighted Ruben Amorim.

After the game, Amorim labelled Mount a ‘very good player’ and, having been a forgotten player when the head coach arrived, Mount is now undroppable.

Mount’s goal was very well taken, as he also shone in his passing, which saw him unlucky not to create more chances due to some poor touches from his fellow forwards.

The 26-year-old is finally making good on his £55m transfer, and after the game, he was hailed by James Maddison, who was on punditry.

James Maddison hails Mason Mount’s performance

Mount is only getting better, and the longer he stays fit, the more vital he will be to Amorim’s system.

The outing against Wolves had his England teammate, James Maddison, hailing him on Sky Sports after the game.

“Just wanted to say, seriously, I thought you were brilliant tonight. We were talking off camera, you showed so many touches of class, and you look like you’re back to your firing best.

“You’re such a good guy off the pitch, and it’s a pleasure to see you playing like that, mate and having a smile on your face after a tough period. Buzzing for you.”

Maddison also praised Mount pre-game, explaining that he thought Amorim really liked the English midfielder.

“You get that feeling that he [Ruben Amorim] trusts him and stuff. He’s obviously had, like I said, a couple of injuries, which has probably halted a bit of the progress, but…

“Kind of, whenever he’s available, he’s in there, and he might be being managed a little bit, but…

“He’s a player who, like I said, has got a great attitude, will run really hard for the team, and a player of good quality, and when you have them things, you play at this level.”
