Former Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho harbours no regrets about how his Old Trafford chapter concluded. The Argentina international is working to revive his career at Chelsea following a summer transfer, and seems focused on what lies ahead rather than dwelling on the past.
Garnacho appeared ready to shake things up after being omitted from Ruben Amorim's starting line-up for last season's Europa League final. He has returned to the Champions League with his new club after securing a deadline day move and addressed journalists before a midweek clash with Atalanta.
During the pre-match media briefing, Garnacho was questioned about whether he had any remorse over how things concluded at the club that gave him his Premier League bow as a teenager. His response was a straightforward 'no', with the winger insisting his decision to relocate to Stamford Bridge was not one he regrets.
"Sometimes in life, you have to change things to take a step forward or to improve as a player," Garnacho said on Monday. "This was the right club and [moving] was an easy decision."
Garnacho, 21, netted his maiden Chelsea goal in October during a Premier League loss to Sunderland. He also got off the mark in the Champions League for the club the following month in a stalemate with Qarabag, and has revealed how Blues manager Enzo Maresca has influenced his development.

"He explained to me everything and now working together, I think we are doing well," Garnacho said of Maresca. "We are going to improve with time, it's just three months together, and he trusts me and that is the most important thing, to have confidence, and I'm going to improve.
"The most important thing is confidence. He speaks with me every week and I think we are going to be better, me as a player and the team all together, with time. We started the season just three months ago so it's building confidence between the manager and the players."
While Garnacho awaits his next taste of Champions League action, his former club are trying to capitalise on having no European distractions of their own. Ruben Amorim's United overcame a frightening moment to defeat rock-bottom Wolves on Monday evening and now find themselves level on points with Chelsea.
Bruno Fernandes fired United ahead early on, only for Jean-Ricner Bellegarde to level matters just before the interval. The away side raised their game after the break, however, securing victory through goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Mason Mount before Fernandes claimed his brace.
"I think we started the game really well," manager Amorim told Sky Sports. "We scored a goal and we let Wolves a little bit get back into the game. We suffered in the last play of the first half but in the second half we had good pace, good quality in the decisions. We finished the game and Wolves is in one difficult moment. It was a good evening."
