To give you the best insight into what’s real and what’s not when it comes to transfers, we will categorise the rumours into:

Green - These rumours should be TRUSTED.

Amber - These rumours come from sources with a MIXED track record.

Red - These rumours come from QUESTIONABLE sources.

Green (✓)

✓ Arsenal are prepared to make an offer for Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi

We have already analysed this rumour in our post yesterday. Please**read it here**.

✓ There have not been any talks between Saudi Pro League clubs and Liverpool forward Mo Salah

This comes from Fabrizio Romano, so it is very likely to be true. However, following Salah’s explosive interview after the 3-3 draw against Leeds on Saturday night, the situation is expected to change very quickly. Al-Hilal are believed to be the front-runners to table an offer at the moment.

Amber (?)

? Former Tottenham defender Sergio Reguilon is set to sign for MLS side Inter Miami

This Spanish publication is hit-and-miss when it comes to accuracy. Inter Miami are, though, looking to replace Jordi Alba and Reguilon’s availability on a free transfer, after being released last summer, makes him a realistic target.

? Manchester United have rejected a loan offer with an obligation to buy from Roma for striker Joshua Zirkzee

The Italian newspaper is based in Rome so it does have inside information on the Giallorossi but David Ornstein downplayed the Serie A side’s interest in the Dutchman last week, so take this information with a large pinch of salt.

? Manchester United are only willing to sell striker Joshua Zirkzee so they are able to reinvest the money

The Football Gossip column has taken this information from an article which was assessing the rumour above. We do not believe the source in question has any inside knowledge. They are likely regurgitating what they have heard from other news outlets.

? Tottenham have been told that Porto striker Samu Aghehowa will not force a move in January

The Gossip column has actually linked the wrong article. The source for this story is**here.**The writer of the article does have decent sources, although he is not 100% reliable. Aghehowa also has interest from Newcastle United and Aston Villa, but Porto may only sell if his €80m (£70m) release clause is triggered.

Red (⨉)

⨉ Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating a swap deal involving Bradley Barcola and Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford

Where to start with this rumour? Firstly, this is not a reputable source so the information provided is not trustworthy. Secondly, Barcola is considerably younger than Rashford and it would go against PSG’s recent policy of prioritising youth over experience and, thirdly, Barcelona hold all the power as they still have an option to sign Rashford on a permanent basis at the end of the season for €30m (£26m).

⨉ Liverpool will accept an offer of £15m for defender Ibrahima Konate if they can find a replacement

This is the same source as the Barcola/Rashford swap story. It is not credible. Liverpool only have two fit centre-backs, with Joe Gomez currently playing as a right-back and unable to play two games a week. Giovanni Leoni has been ruled out for the rest of the season with an ACL injury. It would be suicide to sell Konate, even if we take into consideration his poor form. Another defender could be signed but it would be a shock if the Reds sell anyone in their back four.

⨉ Manchester United could miss out on Olympiakos midfielder Christos Mouzakitis as he prefers a move to Real Madrid

Real are believed to be interested in the 18-year-old, based on reports in the Greek media, so that part of the story is true, but this is not a reliable source for transfer information. We would advise you to wait and see whether this story is verified by a more trustworthy outlet.
