Manchester United are reportedly plotting a huge transfer bid for an England international in the coming months.

If United want to push for Champions League football, they may be able to attract better players to Old Trafford in the coming transfer windows. That will only help to boost Amorim’s chances of winning silverware with the club.

The Red Devils are in desperate need of more quality in midfield, and have now been linked with a blockbuster move for an England international who Cristiano Ronaldo has compared to Zinedine Zidane.

Man United send an offer for Bellingham

In a shocking turn of events, reports in Spain are claiming that Man United are making a move to sign Real Madrid and England midfielder Jude Bellingham. Fichajes are reporting that United offered £131m for the 22-year-old, an offer that was deemed as not enough for Madrid.

The report claims that Man United’s board believes that Bellingham is the ideal player to rebuild around, and that they won’t give up at the first sign of rejection. The England star has made 12 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid this season, scoring three goals and providing two assists.

Bellingham would be a statement signing for United, but based on his talent, age and brand, the former Birmingham City star would likely command an astronomical transfer fee. The report claims that United’s next offer could amount to over £150m, which would be the same amount that PSG paid for Kylian Mbappe from Monaco in the 2018/19 season.

Former Man United star Cristiano Ronaldo very much rates Bellingham, as he compared him to ex-Real Madrid attacker Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo was quoted by Goal.com earlier in the year. He said: “I like him a lot, he reminds me of Zinedine Zidane.”

Could Man United really sign Bellingham?

However, it is a move for a defensive midfielder that is the priority.

Furthermore, there has been no implication from Bellingham that he wants to leave Real Madrid, and again, it must be asked why would he move from a team that is battling for La Liga and Champions League titles, to a team who might not qualify for the Champions League net season.
