Bruno Fernandes hasn’t had his best season ever for Manchester United to date, but against Wolves, he was back where he belonged.
Since Ruben Amorim permanently relocated Bruno Fernandes back into the midfield two, it has not been all smooth sailing for the Portuguese ‘magnifico’.
Fernandes has had to relearn his position at Manchester United, less of a pure creator, more of an all-action number six, and there have been some poor performances, but he was great against Wolves.

Fernandes is always one of the most creative players in the league, usually being let down by his attacking teammates, but that has been less the case this season.
With six already in the league this season, Fernandes is halfway to tying his highest-ever Premier League assist record of 12, despite playing just 15 games.
Bruno Fernandes is a deserving assist leader for Manchester United
This season, Fernandes has already created 45 chances, which is league-leading, and therefore, it is very deserving to see him top of the assist charts.
Impressively, Fernandes has managed to do this while playing so deep in United’s team. The importance of Fernandes is about to grow with Bryan Mbeumo and Amad’s AFCON departure looming, and if he can continue contributing to goals at the rate he is, it could see United survive the absence of the key duo.
To see Fernandes begin shining in this role makes it exciting to think about how good he could be with a mobile and athletic defensive midfielder alongside him, such as Elliot Anderson.
United have been linked with adding a midfielder in January, and this could really bring the team up a level.
