“Dream come true”–Agent pleased with client’s transfer to Manchester United

Benjamin Šeško has returned to training for Manchester United and will be needed by Ruben Amorim in the coming weeks.

The 22-year-old is the club’s only out and out senior striker. With other attacking options set to be missing for AFCON, his importance will grow.

Šeško has been under pressure since before his transfer was even made official. The Manchester United aspect means there’s more scrutiny than at any other Premier League club, as the desperation for a return to success grows.

The youngster could be forgiven for wondering what he’s got himself into, but Šeško’s agent has insisted that’s not the case. Elvis Bašanović said he approached potential regret in a recent chat with his client.

Slovenia’s Ekipa quote him as saying: “Right now, when he was injured, he had a little more time, so I visited him in Manchester and I honestly asked him: how do you see your decision about Manchester United now, when you also have a little more time to think about it. He said: ‘Elvis, the only thing I would regret and I would regret it for the rest of my life, would be not deciding for Manchester United’.”

Slovenian youngsters can dream big

That will have come as something of a relief to Bašanović, given he negotiated the transfer. On a wider basis, the agent is thrilled with what Šeško to Manchester United will represent for Slovenian youngsters.

With a population of just over two million, Slovenia isn’t exactly one of Europe’s football powerhouses.

Bašanović explained how the transfer will help those coming through: “It was the best possible decision, because Beni made his dream come true. What you dream about as a child, and he has now shown other children that there is a path, that it is possible to get from small Radeče to Manchester United. This is a great thing he is doing for all of Slovenia and future generations.”
