Paul Scholes believes two senior figures at Manchester United are proving to be a bigger problem than Ruben Amorim.
Many changes were made at Manchester United following the minority takeover by Ineos, led by Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who became a co-owner in a lesser capacity than the infamous Glazer family.
Ratcliffe and his chiefs took control of football operations, focusing on implementing a new sporting structure to improve operational efficiency and support the manager.
This includes a total overhaul of the sporting leadership at Old Trafford. Omar Berrada is serving as CEO following career-defining spells at Man City and Barcelona, while Jason Wilcox eventually became the director of football.
Former directors John Murtough and Richard Arnold have since left the club to focus on new ventures elsewhere.

Paul Scholes wary of Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox influence
Although Scholes takes no joy in criticising United, there is no denying that the team is painfully inconsistent.
That is bound to frustrate players like Scholes, who delivered top performances regularly in midfield for United. They only settled for the highest of standards under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Scholes has been discussing the latest situation facing Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford by naming two senior figures who have created more problems for the club than the current head coach.

Amorim faces the media every week and gets most of the scrutiny, but Scholes was keen to point out mistakes made by others at the club.
“Have you seen his subs? I don’t think he gets this club, full stop. I just don’t think he’s the right man,” Scholes said on The Good, The Bad & The Football.
“Man United is about risk and entertainment. At home, having fans on the edge of their seat, wingers ready to beat people, shots at goal, bits of skill. There’s nothing there.
“That’s from the club, they’ve got Omar Berrada, they’ve got Jason Wilcox, probably brilliant at what they do.
“They are not from the club, they don’t know what it’s like to buy a Manchester United player, to bring a Manchester United manager in.
“If you go to Sporting Lisbon and watch, they play three at the back, right away that’s ‘no’. United never do that, they can’t do that, it’s been proven over years.
“He brought four defenders on against West Ham. If we went 1-0 up, the manager always said ‘two, three, four’.”

What is Dan Ashworth doing now?
Ineos wanted Dan Ashworth to lead the football department at United, but his stint at the club was extremely brief.
After months of negotiations with Newcastle, Ashworth became sporting director on July 1, 2024.
Ashworth left the club before the end of the year by mutual agreement, despite United having paid over £4m in compensation to Newcastle.
Nowadays, Ashworth is working as the Chief Football Officer for the FA.
