Mason Mount impressed with his display at the Molineux, with the Manchester United Number 7 adding his name to the scoresheet in the second half of the tie.
Bruno Fernandes floated a superb chipped ball into the Wolves box and Mount arrived in time to smash home a side-footed volley past Sam Johnstone.

Despite his overall impact in Manchester United’s encounter with Wolves, Mount was unable to secure a place in BBC Sport’s Premier League Team of the Week.
BBC Sport pundit Troy Deeney instead turned his attention to Bruno Fernandes, who scored in the first half and second half and also picked up an assist in the match.

The ex-Watford striker said that United captain Fernandes was “fantastic” with his passing and “he did very well” against relegation-threatened Wolves at the Molineux.
“Top of the diamond is Fernandes,” Deeney explained, as per BBC Sport.
“Two goals at Wolves and an assist. His passing was fantastic. He loses a bit of credit because it was against arguably the worst team I have ever seen in Wolves, but he did very well.
“Manchester United are back on the winning trail.”

Mason Mount’s reaction to Bruno Fernandes’ Man Utd performance against Wolves speaks volumes
Speaking after the latest Premier League win for United, Mount could only talk up the major impact that Fernandes had against Wolves on Monday evening.
“We all know the calibre of player he is,” he told Sky Sports, as per BBC Sport.
“When he gets on the ball, he’s always trying to create something.
Mount added: “He’s a joy to play with as a player that’s higher up the pitch because you know he’s having a look and he’s going to play the ball over the top.”
Fernandes has netted four times and registered six assists for United in 16 matches across all competitions for the 2025-26 campaign under manager Ruben Amorim.
