Juventus Women secure resounding 5-0 victory away to SKC St. Polten

Juventus Women secured a resounding 5-0 victory away to SKC St. Polten on Matchday 5 of the UEFA Women's Champions League, with goals from Vangsgaard, Pinto, and Krumbiegel, along with a brace from the penalty spot from Girelli.

The match got off to a fantastic start in the fog of St. Polten, in a crucial match for Juventus Women's Champions League campaign: after just six minutes the Bianconere found a breakthrough, scoring from a corner, with Vangsgaard's strike coming from a scramble in the six-yard box.

The early goal allowed the Bianconere to play more calmly as they sought a second goal, and in the 15th minute a great opportunity fell to Tatiana Pinto in the form of a header, but the Austrian goalkeeper responded with a superb save. Five minutes later, Vangsgaard almost scored a second - perfectly set up by some excellent play and a cross from Beccari, which freed the Dane for a confident shot which hit the crossbar.

In the 24th minute, Juventus Women were once again on the verge of making it 2-0: a free kick was pounced on by Girelli, who flicked it into the far post, once again testing the Austrian keeper. The Bianconere dominated the first half hour, with Krumbiegel unleashing a left-footed shot from the edge of the box in the 33rd minute, also coming close to scoring.

The number 10 scored her second at the start of the second half, once again from 11 meters, in a match that at 3-0 after an hour of play was easy for Mister Canzi's team.

Tatiana Pinto then scored the fourth goal, cleverly unleashing a powerful shot from Thomas' pass and capitalizing on Girelli's dummy, which left the Portuguese player with a strike from the edge of the box in the 66th minute. A tried-and-true play for the Bianconere, who took advantage of it in the 81st minute to make the score 5-0 with Krumbiegel, again from a cross from the right and again after Girelli's dummy.

In the final minutes, the Juventus number 10 just missed out on a hat-trick, missing the chance to score again with a final big chance one-on-one with the opposing goalkeeper.
