Kobbie Mainoo could be heading for the exit door at Old Trafford
Paul Scholes has declared that Manchester United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo "will have to leave" the club as his quest for regular minutes under Ruben Amorim continues.
Mainoo entered as a substitute for a brief 12-minute appearance in Monday's emphatic 4-1 victory over Wolves, yet remains largely overlooked by his boss. And Amorim has remained stubborn on the issue.
Nevertheless, there's widespread agreement within the club that Mainoo is being drastically under-utilised, with Scholes seemingly sharing this view. AndDaily Star Sport reveals the latest developments from Old Trafford.

Scholes remains baffled as to why the homegrown talent hasn't secured more starting berths under the present regime, reports the Mirror.
Mainoo, 20, was a consistent starter under Amorim last campaign but has been relegated to substitute appearances in all 10 of his Premier League matches this season.
This situation has left Scholes convinced that a player of such promise will inevitably need to depart if he's to secure regular football and boost his chances of World Cup selection in 2026.
"Ruben Amorim has said Kobbie Mainoo is a starter... every appearance he's made in the Premier League has been as a sub," said the United great on The Good, The Bad and The Football podcast. "Things like that wind me up.
"I wouldn't mind if he was in a good team and they were winning every week and keeping possession but they're rubbish. Kobbie is a 20-year-old kid and he's not playing, he's going to have to leave.
"Do you know what will happen now? Amorim will bring him into a game, and he won't be great, but that's because he needs regular games."

Despite netting four times at Molineux on Monday, there's eagerness to see Sesko back leading United's attack. Joshua Zirkzee and Mason Mount have offered different options up front, but Sesko's recent setback came just as was finding his rhythm.
There was initial concern when the Slovenia striker suffered a knee problem against Tottenham before November's international break. However, the player's representative, Elvis Basanovic, has provided some insight into the forward's comeback.
"Benjamin is feeling very well. His rehabilitation is progressing according to plan," he revealed during a recent stint on Slovenian television. "It's hard to say precisely when he will return.
"That will be up to the medical staff and the manager, but I think we'll see him back on the pitch very soon. Maybe even sooner than expected."

These remarks don't reveal much, though fans will likely latch onto the phrase "sooner than expected".
Sesko, 22, has only netted twice in 11 Premier League appearances, but it's his broader role in linking up the forward line and helping bring Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha into prominence that has proven most valuable so far.
