Last week, La Repubblica reported Napoli want to sign Manchester United’s Kobbie Mainoo on a loan deal. It now seems like the Italian side are looking at West Ham for a potential alternative.
Antonio Conte’s side have multiple injuries in midfield and want to strengthen that part of the pitch as soon as possible. The manager will absolutely be demanding an addition.
Stanislav Loobotka has joined Napoli’s list of absentees. Billy Gilmour, Kevin De Bruyne and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa are already out injured.
This is now forcing Napoli to take quick action.
Tuttomercatoweb reiterate Manchester United’s Mainoo is the main target. Napoli are trying to execute an initial loan deal with the option to buy.
They are also keeping an eye on Bayern Munich’s Leon Goretzka, who is out of the Bavarian club’s plans. If those deals do not work out, Napoli will look to sign West Ham’s Soungoutou Magassa.
The report claims that the Frenchman will become a ‘viable option’ if Napoli fail to sign Mainoo or Goretzka.
The report claims that West Ham value the former Monaco player at €15m right now. This comes after Il Mattino reported last month that an initial loan approach has already been made.
The Hammers rejected this, as they would much rather sell the player permanently.
The 22-year-old joined West Ham from Monaco some months ago for €17m. A sale for anything around that price would help the London club break even.
