Mason Mount has seen his Red Devils playing spell heavily disrupted by injuries since his stunning £55m transfer from Premier League side Chelsea back in 2023.

However, the former Blues ace has been able to overcome major injury setbacks in the current season and has been a key first-team player for Ruben Amorim.

Mount has netted three times and picked up an assist in 13 matches in all competitions and the United No 7 is finally proving his doubters wrong.

According to The Daily Mail, the England manager was ‘very warm’ with Mount and Luke Shaw when he crossed paths with the pair in the Old Trafford tunnel.

The newspaper claims that the encounter between Tuchel and Red Devils duo Mount and Luke Shaw occurred after United’s 1-0 defeat to 10-man Everton.

Despite his close contact with Tuchel, Mount’s chances of climbing back into the England fold could be looking bleak ahead of the 2026 World Cup in North America.

Another major factor that Tuchel is reportedly conscious of is Mount playing in a ‘totally different style’ to England after featuring in Ruben Amorim’s tactical system.
