Discussing his stance on a few players’ performances in the game, Brown picked out Heaven for praise.
“I thought Heaven was brilliant”, he declared.
Brown also had praise for a handful of Heaven’s teammates.
“Mason, you can see the manager really likes Mason first of he wants to play him all the time, and he’s just come into his own a little bit. He’s got great balance.
“I mean, even Cunha played well, he didn’t score. He would have loved to have got on the score sheet and Mbeumo scores, which we needed him to do as well.
“Shaw was excellent. You know, everyone played well.”
Ayden Heaven playing his way into Manchester United’s best back three
While Heaven was almost forgotten about until recently, his performances have likely earned him another start next Monday against Bournemouth.
It has been the injury to Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire that has resulted in these minutes for Heaven, but his performances are proving that he cannot be forgotten about once again.
Heaven had been lined up for a loan in January, but surely he will be playing himself out of this bracket and into Amorim’s immediate plans.
The more the 19-year-old plays, the better he will be. If Amorim is planning for the future, then he must be starting.
