Thomas Tuchel and Ruben Amorim appear to be in disagreement over the impact Mason Mount can have for England. The Manchester United star has endured a difficult few years with injuries, but has been performing well over the last few months.
Mount made it two goals from his last three appearances in the 4-1 win over Wolves this past Monday, with the 26-year-old named player of the match. Just a few days prior, England discovered their World Cup fate with Tuchel's side to face Croatia, Ghana and Panama in the group stages.
A number of spots in his squad are up for grabs with the most competition almost certainly in the forward areas. Mount will be one of those hoping to make the cut, though it seems Tuchel is not that keen on him for one key reason.
According to the Daily Mail, the differing styles of Amorim and the Three Lions head coach is an issue, with conversations between the two camps giving off the feeling that a call-up is ‘highly unlikely’. It is further stated that regardless of whether or not he continues impressing, Tuchel is not expected to look in Mount's direction.
Such a stance could significantly derail Mount's hopes of getting back into the England squad for next summer's tournament in the United States.
Back in November, The Sun had reported that it was the Manchester United head coach's 'special plan' for the upcoming months as he views Mount as England's most underrated player.
It was also claimed at the time that Mount is viewed by Amorim as a "super talent" with that on full display against Wolves earlier this week in what was arguably his most impressive outing for United.
The United boss thinks there is 'no other' England player who can offer Tuchel what Mount can. However, despite helping him get back to his best, with three goals in his last seven Premier League games, Amorim's plan is set to bomb with Mount expected to be snubbed again, having last played for his country at the 2022 World Cup.
Even though Amorim may be fighting a losing battle against Tuchel, more prominent minutes for Mount are very likely with the Portuguese tactician blown away by his performance at Molineux.
Amorim said: "He can defend, he can attack, the quality when he touches the ball is really good, so it's not a surprise for me."

"He's a different type of leader. It's not like Licha [Lisandro Martínez], for example. It's a guy that leads by the example.
"It doesn't matter the situation, Mason Mount is always the same thing -- training, talking, dealing with people around Carrington. That is not easy, so he's a very, very good player."
Bruno Fernandes (x2) and Bryan Mbeumo were also on target in the victory, with United moving up sixth as a result of those three points.
United's next game is against Bournemouth, and it is their third Monday evening clash since late November, with the win over Crystal Palace the only Premier League clash of their last five not played under the lights.
Following the Cherries' visit to Old Trafford, United travel to Aston Villa before returning to home soil for games against Newcastle United and Wolves after Christmas.
