Liverpool and Man United chasing Real Madrid superstar

Struggling Premier League champions Liverpool welcome Brighton and Hove Albion to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

Arne Slot’s side have won just two of their last ten Premier League matches, most recently drawing 3-3 against struggling Leeds United.

The Reds did return to winning ways in the Champions League on Tuesday, though, beating Italian giants Inter Milan 1-0 to move a step closer to securing automatic qualification for the knockout stage of the competition.

Now, in the wake of an important win in Milan, it has emerged that Liverpool are in the race to sign one of La Liga’s biggest stars.

According to CaughtOffside, both Liverpool and rivals Manchester United are showing interest in Real Madrid attacker Arda Güler.

The report suggests that current Premier League leaders Arsenal are also in the running to land the Turkey international, who has been in fine form this term.

Guler, 20, joined Real from Fenerbahce back in 2023 and has since made more than 80 appearances for the Spanish side across all competitions.

He has scored 15 goals and provided 18 assists in that time, and his performances for Xabi Alonso’s side have attracted interest from several top English sides.

The report claims that all three interest Premier League sides are stepping up their interest in the Turk, who primarily plays as an attacking midfielder but can also play on the flank.

Guler is contracted to Real Madrid until the end of the 2028/29 campaign, but it appears that clubs could attempt to lure him away from the Spanish capital next year.

Liverpool boss Slot is said to be keen to add more creativity to his squad – despite spending more than £400 million on new signings over the summer – and Guler has been identified as the perfect candidate to do exactly that.
