As Kobbie Mainoo’s situation at Manchester United continues to be difficult, Napoli seem to be actively pursuing the midfielder.
The Italian side lost 2-0 to Benfica in the Champions League on Wednesday evening Before the match, sporting director Giovanni Manna was asked about the Manchester United player.
He told Sky Italia that Napoli will make certain assessments about a move, with their midfield wrecked by injuries.
Manna said, as relayed by NapoliMagazine: “ Mainoo has been linked with us since August, given his age, prospects, and opportunities.
“Our players will return from injuries. We need to make the right assessments to understand how their recoveries will progress.”
As of now, Napoli have Billy Gilmour, Stanislav Lobotka, Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa and Kevin De Bruyne sidelined due to injuries. This is likely to make them desperate to sign Mainoo.
