Manchester United have not made any contact to sign free agent Sergio Ramos, with GIVEMESPORT senior reporter Fabrizio Romano issuing an update on the situation.
Reports in Spain in recent days had suggested that the Red Devils had made an offer to sign the 39-year-old on a free transfer after he left Monterrey this month following the expiry of his contract.
Ramos is keen to carry on playing and extend his 22-year playing career, although it appears unlikely that it will be at Old Trafford anytime soon with the reports played down by Romano.

Manchester United have long been linked with a move for Sergio Ramos during different stages of his career, but the latest reports were surprising to say the least.
The Red Devils have good depth in the centre-back position with Ruben Amorim having Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Ayden Heaven to choose from when everyone is fit, while Luke Shaw and Noussair Mazraoui have also played in the back three system too.
Maguire and De Ligt are both currently absent through injury, while Martinez is only just back after a long spell on the sidelines, which is potentially what has prompted the Ramos rumours to surface.
However, Romano says talk of contact and offers is not true as things stand, as he wrote in his latest GIVEMESPORT newsletter on Thursday:
I’m not aware of any contact between Sergio Ramos and Man United now.

While a deal to sign Ramos would of course be on a free, the wages the World Cup winner would command could impact United's budget.
It comes at a time when, according to GIVEMESPORT senior correspondent Ben Jacobs, they are looking to add two senior midfielders to their ranks in 2026.
With talk that the likes of Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson and Adam Wharton all have price tags worth around £100m, United to put their full focus - and budget - into an area of the pitch that clearly needs strengthening.
As Amorim's ideal starting XI starts to come together, United need long-term solutions in the middle of the park with Casemiro and Bruno Fernandes - both into their 30s - currrently the first-choice partnership ahead of Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo.
Reports have suggested that United have made Anderson their top midfield target following his impressive performances for Nottingham Forest and England, with a belief he could be available for a lower price than the likes of Baleba and Wharton.
Amorim Facing Crucial Moment at Man United
Ruben Amorim
Despite United's improved position in the Premier League table, some are still to be convinced by the style of play or performances.
Amorim now has an opportunity to build on Monday night's 4-1 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers with their next three matches against Bournemouth, high-flying Aston Villa and Newcastle United.
All of those will provide a real test for the Red Devils to see how much they've really progressed.
