This has led to the assumption that United will spend big money on the midfield with a star signing expected to be supplemented by some cheaper yet very capable players.

United have been linked with Alex Scott from Bournemouth, and now his midfield teammate Tyler Adams is also attracting interest from the Red Devils.

Adams was first mentioned in relation to United last week and now Ben Jacobs has told The United Stand that the club are particularly keen about one thing Adams has about his game.
“What Manchester United like about Tyler Adams is the character, he’s gregarious, he’s liked by his teammates, I think you will see a lot of leadership qualities on show in the World Cup.
“I wouldn’t get over-excited in that this is a name they’ve not started a formal negotiation over, it’s not somebody top of their wishlist, but if an eventuality arises where they can’t go ahead with their two top targets (Baleba and Anderson), they still want two new midfielders.”
United were linked with Adams back in 2021, when he was at RB Leipzig as a 22-year-old, now he’d be arriving as a player in his prime years to play a role in the squad.

After leaving Leipzig, Adams joined Leeds United and so if he were to join Manchester United in 2026, he would join an exclusive group of six players to ever make this move.
