Luis Nani has urged Manchester United to delve into the market to sign Antoine Semenyo from Bournemouth in January.
Manchester United completely revamped their attacking line last summer, bringing in Bryan Mbuemo, Matheus Cunha, and Benjamin Šeško and committing over £200 million to the three deals.
All three players have been well received by head coach Rúben Amorim and the fans alike, although Mbeumo is the one who has really hit the ground running with six goals so far this season.
However, many feel that the club’s attacking line is still hindered by the lack of threat in the wide areas, with Amad being the only wing-back truly showing signs of threat up front on the right flank.
Amorim himself has said he feels he needs ‘another Amad’ on the left-hand side, hinting that the club will be heading into the 2026 transfer window with a left wing-back on their mind.
United urged to go for Semenyo
One of the most talked-about players of this season outside the ‘big six’ clubs has been Borumouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who has been nothing short of brilliant.
Although Bournemouth and Semenyo, who are due to play United at Old Trafford on Monday evening, are on a poor patch of form, the latter’s talents have been clear to see amid his £65 million release clause in January.
Although the Ghana international has been tipped as a replacement for Mo Salah at Liverpool amid the legend’s power struggle, he has also been touted as the exact ‘another Amad’ player Amorim has been referring to.
I agree that you can buy another Amad as an option, like Semenyo.
But I don’t think you could start Semenyo and Amad in the SAME match, for instance.

Mbeumo was once touted as the Salah replacement, but United nicked him off all interested parties against the odds last summer.
“Why not?” Former United striker Luis Nani told The Metro when asked if his old club should look to secure the 24-year-old in January.
“I think all the players who have the ability to move forward at speed, being able to dribble, able to shoot, to score goals, to assist and just have that general creativity in the moment would suit Manchester United.
“That’s the type of player the fans want to see. However, we know that when players come to Man United, this is totally different. It’s a different environment, different pressure, different mentality, different job, and then they have to adapt.
“I hope if we get Semenyo, he can come with his attitude, with this mentality, and he can put all of his talent on the field and help the team.”
United not focused on Semenyo transfer
Unfortuntaely for Nani, the current reports suggest that he will not get his wish in January.

According to football journalist Ben Jacobs, at this stage, other clubs are more serious about exploring a January move for Semenyo than United, who are well known to want multiple new midfielders this summer.
Various reports have confirmed that the club are tracking midfielders Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson, and Carlos Baleba and will likely make a big-money bid for one of them. At the same time, a secondary midfielder could also be signed.
While the club do not plan on making any significant changes in January, if Kobbie Mainoo were to be granted his request to leave on loan next month amid his lack of game-time, the club would no doubt enter the market for a replacement.
