The Man Utd confirmed team news and injury latest to face Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Ruben Amorim’s side are back in action on Monday night and will hope to build upon their comfortable victory over Wolves at the start of the week. United head into the weekend schedule sixth in the Premier League table, but could drop down to mid-table again by the time they kick off at Old Trafford.

United showed signs of improvement as they swept aside the team at the bottom of the league, but they can't afford any complacency when they host a better team in their next match. Amorim is well aware of how quickly the mood can change after one result, and he provided a team news update at his latest press conference.

Manchester United team news vs Bournemouth

Manchester United have confirmed their early team news to face AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League on Monday night.

United will be without Harry Maguire and Matthijs De Ligt for the match, while Benjamin Sesko could be back after his recent injury lay-off. De Ligt was absent from the recent draw with West Ham and also missed the win at Wolves after he was initially expected to be available and will miss a third game on Monday night.

Maguire has been sidelined with a hamstring injury since the 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur last month, a match in which Sesko also suffered a knee injury. Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday afternoon, Amorim said: “Maguire is out, De Ligt is out. Ben we have to see. We have to see if he is available. He had some (food) poisoning.” When pushed for a furthe update on De Ligt, he added: “He has something in his back, I don;t know sure, you see it’s not a big injury but he has some pain. We have to be careful with that.”

United have yet to confirm whether they will have Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbeumo available on Monday night before they depart for the Africa Cup of Nations. Fifa rules state clubs must release players by Monday 15 December, a deadline that caused uncertainty at Old Trafford due to the fact United face Bournemouth in the Premier League that night.

Amorim added: “We are still in conversation with national teams. We are trying to prepare for every situation. It’s frustrating but at the same time nobody knows who is going to play, so it’s a good thing. We have players to cope with everything. With a long week you can work on several stuff to prepare the game.”

“I know if it’s going to be some situation. Every national team has their ideas about when they want the players. I expect today or maybe tomorrow to have a decision but we are waiting until the last moment to chose the best team.”
