Benjamin Sesko could return for Manchester United against Bournemouth on Monday but Harry Maguire and Matthijs de Ligt will both miss out against the Cherries. Sesko has been absent since injuring his knee when coming on as a substitute in the draw at Tottenham five weeks ago, while Maguire's last appearance was in the same game after injuring his thigh.

De Ligt started the first 13 [Premier League](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/all-about/premier-league) games of the season, but has now missed the last with a back injury, although Ruben Amorim is confident it won't be long before the Dutchman is back. Sesko has returned to training but has been laid low by food poisoning, although Amorim is hopeful the Slovenian striker could be available, with United still having two training sessions before Monday's game.

"Maguire is out, De Ligt is out, Ben we have to see," said Amorim. "We have to see if he’s available, he has some food poisoning but let’s wait, we have two training sessions still." It had been expected De Ligt might have returned to fitness by now but Amorim is still being cautious with his return as he continues to complain of a back injury.

"He has something in his back, I don’t know sure, you see it’s not a big injury but he has some pain. We have to be careful with that," he said. United face a Bournemouth side struggling for form, but Amorim is a big fan and is particularly impressed with the work done by their head coach, Andoni Iraola.

"It’s a top team, top manager," he said. "I don’t look to the results, I look the way they face every opponent, they press really strong, they are direct in the game. That gives us a lot of options to prepare the game. I expect a really tough game but we need to win, especially at home."

On Iraola, Amorim said: "Special. The way they play the game, what he’s doing for some players, he’s improving some players, and you can look at that team, they have several players who can play at a high level."
