Henrik Pedersen was left gutted but proud after Sheffield Wednesday's Watford draw
Sheffield Wednesday boss Henrik Pedersen has made no secret of his hunger to keep Harry Amass at Hillsborough in January.
Manager Henrik Pedersen has admitted he is confident Sheffield Wednesday “will do everything” to try and keep Manchester United loanee Harry Amass at Hillsborough for the remainder of the season.
The 18-year-old has been a standout performer since moving to S6 on transfer deadline day in September, racking up 15 Championship appearances for the Owls, chipping in with one goal.
Establishing himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet at Hillsborough, the talented left-sided player, unsurprisingly, is understood to be attracting interest from elsewhere ahead of the January transfer window opening for business in less than three weeks’ time.
Although Amass’ temporary move to Hillsborough was described as a season-long loan by United at the time, Wednesday will have to agree a deal to renew his loan until the end of the campaign. Other clubs have been alerted to his rapid progress, but Wednesday have been locked in talks with the Old Trafford outfit for some time about keeping him until the campaign reaches its conclusion.
And with the January window fast approaching, Wednesday will be keen to know where they stand sooner rather than later. Pedersen has often reiterated his belief that Amass’ temporary stay at Hillsborough is suiting all parties, meaning he is hopeful he will be able to keep him for the second half of the season.
Pedersen hails Amass and makes January wish clear
"I think he has had a fantastic development," Pedersen said of Amass. "A bit like Charlie [McNeill], a big talent, but what is big talent?

"With young players, we know they can do something, and then they are a little bit sometimes good, sometimes not good. Sometimes there's a big difference in the level of the performance.
"I think Harry started the season very well, then he had a little bit where he went down. Not down, but where it was more unstable. But then in the last five, six games he has been very strong.
"He does a great job, and he does a great job together with his teammates because, again, nobody can do something alone - and it is the same for Harry.
"But Harry has played a fantastic season. I'm sure that we will do everything to keep him, and I'm also sure that for Harry and for United it's a good match right now."
